Jennifer Love Fatass
For those who dont know what Im talking about, heres a quick recap: Jennifer Love Hewitt was photographed looking considerably larger than usual. The paparazzi said mean things, and she hit back with some comments of her own. Here's my take:
I think JLH was always a marginal celebrity, and her only real claim to fame was her tight body. Once you lose the the tight body, you can certainly expect things to be said about you. Also, the paparazzi says nasty things about celebrities every single day. None of them ever hit back with direct rebuttals, because they know its pointless.
Also, in her so-called empowering message, she says: "Size two is not fat! Nor will it ever be. And being a size zero doesn't make you beautiful", implying that she is a size 2, only slightly larger than the perfect size 0, so please dont pick on her.
So, in short, I think JLH wanted to somehoe get back in the news, and her agent felt this was the perfect way to do it. Not only is she making all the tabloids, shes also some sort of do-gooder now. Already she is parlaying this media attention into something profitable for herself: she's launching a clothing/swimwear line for larger women, flatteringly called Orca.
PS - It might be somewhat possible for her to be a size 2, because when I was down in the US 2 weeks ago, I thought the sizing was really weird. I would say a Canadian 6 or even 8 was a US 2 or 4, so people would feel better about themselves or something. I could even, amazingly, fit into one size 0 skirt - though, in the skirts defence, it was a tight fit.

OMG you're probably right re: the publicity factor. She came off looking so good in all this. I kind of just was like, "grr, evil media."
Although: seriously, I still think she looks hot. She's got hips and whatever, but she still has like, the hourglass figure of most women's dreams.
Sorry dudes, I'm never going to take the side of nasty assholes like the TMZ jerks thinking they're entitled to comment on women's bodies, especially in such a harsh and critical way, especially when they're most likely pasty-assed, balding, beer-bellied asswipes who haven't bothered showering in two days. If Jennifer Love Hewitt actually walked up to any of those asswipes and was like, "I want to have sex with you", they would literally shit themselves with excitement. She's not fat; they were being mean and critical about her because, as men, they feel they have the right to be mean and critical about how women look, because women are nothing BUT decoration for men to comment on, and fuck that shit. It's the same phenomenon that encourages men telling women to smile on the street, which: HATE, and the same asshats who denigrated JLove for her "ample" bottom no doubt turn around and damn people like Keira Knightley for being too skinny - and again, would shit themselves if Keira ever gave them the time of day. I can't believe the world has come to this, but I am firmly on the side of Team J.Love here.

Okay but the point is that JLH's entire career has been built on the idea that women are nothing but decoration for men to comment on. The only difference is that 5 years ago the comments were appreciative, and now they are mean. She wasnt complaining when various websites were commenting on how attractive she was, so why is she complaining now?
